Oscar
winning composer AR Rahman is making a return to Kollywood after
his one-year break. Last year,2011 he had a sole release in
Rockstar that too in Hindi. Starting 2012 with Ekk Deewana Tha
again in Bollywood, Rahman is back to his basics.
He was the special guest of honor on the American talk show
named “Oprah’s Next Chapter”, hosted by world famous chat host
Oprah Winfrey .On her first visit to India, Rahman welcomed her
to his KM Music Conservatory an educational institution of
Western, Indian Music, and Audio Technology in Chennai.
He also had his KMMC children’s choir perform
for the show. The composer did talk about his 2 international
projects coming up in DreamWorks Animation’s Monkeys of Mumbai,
and Alex Kurtzman’s People Like Us.
Apart from that, his Kollywood list has Mani Ratnam’s ‘Kadal’,
Rajinikanth’s ‘Kochadaiyaan’, Dhanush’s film ‘Mariyaan’ directed
by Bharathbala, Gautham Menon’s ‘Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru’ and a
project with Director Shankar. Says Rahman, “Yes, it’s almost
like a comeback of sorts for me. I’m making up for my absence. I
would compose for as much as 5 films in Tamil this year”. |
