Vijay’s
fans are not at all amused by reports in the press which claim
that the actor’s upcoming film Thuppakki opposite Kajal Aggarwal
has been ‘dropped’. The film not only brings together for the
first time the on-screen combination of Vijay and Kajal but it
is also for the first time that Vijay has got the opportunity to
work under the direction of A.R. Murugadoss, who has been a
highly successful film-maker.
The film is being produced by ‘Kalaipuli’ Thaanu and the first
schedule of the film’s shooting has already been wrapped up.
Murugadoss has all of a sudden stopped the film’s shooting and
has instead taken up the production of a short-film. Murugadoss’
act of stopping the shoot of Thuppakki has sent tongues wagging
with many claiming that the director has ‘dropped’ the project.
Vijay’s fans are dying to know as to what
happened to the film. Without a formal word from the director,
they are said to be enquiring about the film’s progress and
future with the actor and his father and director S.A.
Chandrasekaran. When queried about the film’s status at a recent
event, Vijay said that “Please don’t get taken in by rumours
thar Thuppakki has been dropped. The shooting would commence
shortly.
“The stoppage has been necessitated due to lack of manpower in
view of the strike by FEFSI and other bodies for the past many
days. Soon, the shooting would be back on track,” he said but
not with a smiling face. In the meantime, Vijay is said to
making maximum use of the unexpected break by attending the
inauguration of many shops and keeping himself busy. |
