It’s the
first 3-D film in India to be shot with the motion capture
technology seen in Avatar, making Kochadaiyaan one of the
most-awaited releases this year. Then, of course, you have
Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, Deepika Padukone’s
glamorous presence, and K.S. Ravikumar weaving magic with his
script.
This period film, shot by Rajiv Menon and set to a musical score
by Oscar winner A.R., is said to be an epic historical drama.
Rajini’s daughter Soundharya R. Ashwin, who has been in the
limelight for directing the film, confirmed to DC that the film
will release in Tamil with dubbed versions in Japanese and
English.
After much initial speculation over who would
play the female lead, including the likes of Katrina Kaif,
Anushka Sharma and Vidya Balan, it was finally revealed that
Deepika would star opposite Rajini.
The entire unit spent months shooting in London and Soundharya
finally says, “The shooting has been wrapped up.” The director
also clarified to DC that the stories about Aishwarya Rai making
a guest appearance in the film were mere rumours.
She says, “Right now all the post production work is progressing
well in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Chennai and the U.K. as well.”
The audio is one of the film’s highlights with the superstar
himself having lent his voice for a track. It is likely that the
audio release will take place in June.
Seems like Rajini’s fans across the world including his large
fan base in Japan have a lot to look forward to! |
