This
is the fascinating rumour making its merry rounds in Kollywood.
As reported first by this newspaper, Kamal Haasan has signed a
film with Aascar Films, but speculation was rife then that
Shankar might direct it.
Later, it was learnt that the Endhiran director had opted for
Vikram for his flick. The latest report is that Ulaganayagan
will be teaming up K.S. Ravikumar, who is known for his
commercial potboilers.
The movie will be a sequel to Panchathanthiram, a 2002 hit with
the same combo, and will be produced by Aascar Ravichandran.
Panchathanthiram was a roller coaster comedy
with Simran playing opposite to Kamal. It also had Ramya
Krishnan in a prominent character role, and an ensemble cast
including Jayaram, Nagesh, Sriman, Ramesh Aravindh, Yuhi Sethu
etc.
The movie was written by Kamal and Crazy Mohan. It may be
recalled that a few years back,Kamal and KSR came together for
Dasavatharam, which proved to be one of Kamal’s biggest-ever hit
for Aascar Films. Buzz is that Kamal and Ravikumar are holding
discussions and gearing up for the sequel! |
