It is directed by Pavithran who later did two films with Sarathkmar Indu and I Love India both of them made in Tamil and dubbed in Telugu and has not fared well at the box office both in Tamil and Telugu.

The film includes a comedy track featuring actor Goundamani that is still popular among Tamil movie fans. One of his dialogues in the movie, "Arasiyalla ithellam saatharanam appa" added with "narayana intha kosu tholla thaanga mudila da" has gone on to become one of the most famous lines spoken in a Tamil film. Sarath took risk in stunts. He appeared with bald head for first time in movie and lifting the car when running idle are spoken scenes in the movie. Actress roja performs glamorous and egoist girls as daughter of politician Rajan P Dev. Manoramma acting was also remarkable in the movie.
