Saamy is a 2003 Tamil film starring Vikram and Trisha. The film is directed by Hari and music was composed by Harris Jayaraj. This film was a hit of the year and was a musical hit too. This film was later remade into Telugu as Lakshmi Narasimha. Like other films directed by Hari this film also specialises a particular city and this time it is Tirunelveli.

Saamy along with Kaakka Kaakka started a new genre of police and thief films in Tamil like Bheeshmar, Gambeeram, Anjaneya and many others. But none of them could repeat the success of Saamy and Kaakka Kaakka.
