Movies made on sports are a rarity in Tamil cinema. Cashing in on the opportunity, director Vijay Nandha has come out with a film that is based on 'carrom'.  At a time when cricket hogs all limelight among everyone in the country, comes Vilayada Vaa. It is about a youth who is passionate about carrom, says the director.

Having directed films in Telugu and many advertisement commercials before, Vijay Nandha says, 'though it is a film that is based on carrom, it has romance, humour and action at right mix'.

Newcomer Vishwanath Balaji plays the lead role. Divya Padmini, who acted in Puli Vesham, plays the female lead. The movie has a huge star cast that includes Ponnambalam, Livingston, Charlie, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Mayilsamy, Manobala among others.
